Classes for the week begin on Monday, July 15th, at 7:00 P.M. Plan to arrive a few hours early to register, get settled, and eat dinner. The workshop finishes on Saturday, July 20th, after lunch.
As class space is limited, we encourage students to sign up as early as possible.
The University of North Carolina School of the Arts is located in Winston-Salem, called “The City of Arts & Innovation”. It is conveniently located at the crossroads of major thoroughfares of Interstate 85, I-77, I-40, Business 40 and Highway 52. the intersection of Interstate 40 and Interstate 52 Because there are several options and easy routes to navigate your way to Winston-Salem, it would be easy to claim that almost all roads lead to Winston-Salem! If you’re wondering where that puts Winston-Salem in the “miles from” category, it about 144 miles east of Asheville, 329 miles north of Atlanta, 350 miles south of Washington, D.C. and just more than 100 miles west of Raleigh, N.C. If, while studying a map of North Carolina, you take just a moment to focus on the middle of the “Tar Heel State,” you are bound to find Winston-Salem. If you are flying to the workshop, please fly to Greensboro, NC…Piedmont Triad International Airport (airport code is GSO). A major international airport, just 25 minutes from downtown Winston-Salem with over 60 non-stops flights serviced by six major airlines. Another choice is Charlotte Douglas International Airport (airport code is CLT) which is less than 1 1/2 hour drive away (84.0 mi – I-85 N and US-52 N). Charlotte Douglas International Airport is a major East Coast hub with many major national and international flights daily.
